Mark Woznichak returns to Las Vegas in his Direct Transport / Water One Chevy Camaro Top
Alcohol Funny Car. After his Semi-Final finish at the Division 7 race in Las Vegas the team was really
revved up for the 12th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals also in Las Vegas.
We knew the car needed to be a little quicker than at the Division race, so we made some
adjustments to the fuel system that really helped. We ran a 5.682 @ 251 mph on our first run,
which put us in the #1 qualifying position. After that we followed up with a 5.73 which was 2nd
fastest of the 2nd qualifying session, but maintained our #1 position. On the last qualifier we missed
the tune up a little and ran a 5.75 and ended up qualifying #4.
In the First round against Clint Thompson’s Chevy Monte Carlo we were on a decent pass when we
banged the blower in 2nd gear. Then right after that Clint Banged his blower, but coasted through a
little quicker than us to take the win.

DeJoria lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off early and then swung into the other lane
to make the first turn, so she didn't get a time. Woznichak with a great looking pass, straight
down the groove to go to the number one spot. Alexis De Joria's incremental times: 60ft-0.980
sec., 330ft-3.377, 660ft-6.405/072.05 mph, 1,000ft-10.295.

Thompson with a great reaction time and never trailed for the win light. Woznichak with a flash
just past half track and is coasting. Then Thompson bangs and sends the burst panel flying high
in the air. He is now coasting and gets to the finish line first. Thompson will give up lane choice
to Gordon in the next round.
