The Rancho Framing / White Cap / Direct Transport Top Alcohol Funny Car started the race
weekend qualifying in the #5 position out of the 22 cars that were entered. Unfortunately in the
first round of competition the car spun and then smoked the tires about 150 feet out past the
starting line. Allowing our competitor to beat us.
In the first round of qualifying the car left the line and almost immediately smoked the tires and
Mark had to lift. Only running a 10.17 ET. In the second round we were able to control the wheel
speed a little better and got down the track with a 5.642 @ 255.53 MPH which was good enough
for the #2 position at that time. In the third round of qualifying the car spun the tire pretty hard
and went into tire shake, but was still able to run a 5.710 @ 253.23 MPH. In the first round of
eliminations we were paired up with Shawn Bellimeir who had just run a career best time of 5.69
to qualify # 12. We put the tune up from our earlier run 5.64 back in, hoping it would repeat itself.
The car left good with a .955 60 foot time, but at about a 150 feet out the tires lost traction
resulting in the car smoking the tires forcing Mark to lift.

A couple great looking passes here to end the session. Woznichak with his quickest and fastest
pass of the season to go to the number two spot. Mark Woznichak's incremental times: 60ft-0.959
sec., 330ft-2.503, 660ft-3.723/202.70mph, 1,000ft-4.761 Weaver with a real nice pass to get in the
show. These two will bump out Patton and Littlefield, and put Miner is on the bump spot at 5.778
going into Saturday. The final round of qualifying is scheduled for approximately 11 am.
