CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA
Winternationals
Pomona, Calif.
(February 7-10 2008)
even though we did not run as quick as we would have liked we did make 2 runs down the
being a competitive car.
Here are the results from NHRA.com:
Thursday
Results for Qualifying Round 1
POMONA, Calif. - POMONA 1 - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the
NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 48th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals
listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 14.457/61.37, Now #7
Instant smoke for the painter, Woznichak.
Friday
Results for Qualifying Round 2
Left Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 5.825/248.89, Now #9
Best prior run: 14.457/61.37, Was #21
Right Lane: Dennis Taylor Runs 5.697/252.57, Now #3
Best prior run: 7.273/123.09, Was #16
Good to see Lions starter, Larry Sutton, backing Taylor to the starting line. His bad back has
slowed him a bit for a few years. Something helped as that was the straightest run out of that
Plumbing Concepts car that I've seen in awhile. Woz improves from his first hit and just
misses the top half of the show.
Results for Qualifying Round 3
Left Lane: Sean O'Bannon Runs 5.799/257.63, Now #16
Best prior run: 5.856/256.55, Was #18
Right Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 5.890/248.80, Now #17
Best prior run: 5.825/248.89, Was #16
O'Bannon was completely off the pedal at 100ft and he still manages to put the car in the
show...on the bump. Woz just misses in the other lane.
