After not qualifying at the Las Vegas Regional Race and ending up in the #9 first
alternate position the Color by Woz team made some changes to the fuel system
The Changes really helped as we qualified the Water One / Direct Transport /
Color by Woz Chevy Monte Carlo Alcohol Funny Car in the #7 position with a
5.745 @ 252.05 mph at the 4500’+ corrected altitude Las Vegas Speedway. In the
first round we raced the #9 qualifier Brian Hough. They both left almost together
with Mark having a slight one hundredth of second advantage off the starting line.
By half track Brian had a slight lead of a couple hundredths when he blew up his
motor and Mark passed him to take the win with a 5.738 @ 253.18 mph to Brian’s
slowing 5.954 @ 201.76 mph. In the Second round Mark was paired up with Jay
Payne’s Fire Ice Mustang . Mark ran his best time of the weekend a 5.660 @
255.00 mph, but it was not enough to hold off Jay’s best time of the race a 5.547
@ 259.56 mph run. That was the end of our weekend of racing and we will not run
again until the Regional race at Sonoma, CA in July.

Woznichak was shut off after he backed up from his burnout due to fluids on the
track. A good looking pass for Westerfield.

Whiteley was loose on the launch and she was off the throttle at about 200 feet.

Rupert broke on the line. No problems for Woznichak.

A smooth and straight pass for "The Woz". Hough was trailing smoke starting at
about 800 feet, and the smoke grew thicker at the finish. He left some oil on the
track and we're down for track clean up.
