The Color by Woz, Direct Transport, Waterone / Monte Carlo Top Alcohol
Funny Car went to Phoenix early to do some testing before the LODRS
Regional race. In testing we learned what not to do, shaking the car
violently on both runs. For the first round of qualifying we went the
opposite way on the tune-up and made a clean run going 5.759 @ 248.16
mph. For the second & final qualifying pass we improved to a 5.721 @
252.33 mph. We ended up qualifying in the #7 position and our first
round opponent was #2 qualifier John Lombardo. John Left with a slight
lead and Mark ran his best run of the race, a 5.687 @ 254.42 mph, but
it was not quick enough to beat John’s 5.645 @ 255.15 mph

Neat! I enjoy hearing the shift changes as the cars run down the track.
The Woz makes a strong pass and will take over the current top spot.

Griboski gets off the line first and then has to pump the throttle and
slows.
Woznichak was on a good pass, but has a bunch of smoke out from
underneath the car near the lights. He improves a little, but stays
number seven.
